I had watched the original movie and was astounded by it's beautiful intricacies, themes, and messages. It was a true story of the American West told from a seldom-herd perspective. It beautifully talked about the colonization of the American West and told the story and the plight of the Native Americans. However the movie is still kept light and kid-friendly.
The television show is a utter dead turd compared to the original movie. It has no deep messages to speak of, Spirit whose purpose in the movie was to represent unbridled freedom, is freaking literally bridled in the show. The characters are just small annoying twerps compared the majestic symbolic characters in the movie. The music is absolutely nothing compared to the stunning voice of Bryan Adams. Spirit himself is no longer the main character, instead it is just some quintessential slightly "different" girl that one could see in any three-star young adult novel you pick up at the library. Honestly, the original movie should sue for defamation.
Also, Spirit has a white stripe in this large cow turd that one has stepped in of a show. Spirit did not have a white stripe in the cinematic masterpiece of the movie.
