This season, or mini series, or whatever it is,lives and dies by Olyphant's charisma. The other characters just aren't engaging. All the actors are doing the best with what they've got, but the story is weak. Visually, it's shot like a procedural, so there's nothing engaging there either. It's been six episodes of wheel spinning while we wait for whatever shoot out they got in store for us in ep 8. A romance appears out of nowhere seemingly added because it was in the TV formula handbook. I will say that I liked the daughter as an actress way better than most. Too bad her character has nothing to do with anything and was shipped off after she could put the show on her resume. It's disappointing

BARRY is a show that (almost) immediately grows past it's high concept premise. It starts out as a take on Grosse Point Blank...but it eventually seems to realize that it wants to be more than that. It gives itself a truckload of comedy characters to work with, but eventually dispenses with most of them. All the characters (who live) live with consequences of their actions. There are funny parts, but those parts get darker and darker as we go. I absolutely think that this is worth your time. It's complete, and I rode this til the end...and I'm satisfied
