Horrible. Ridiculously improbable storyline (both dads remarried younger women and had more kids, what are the odds), pointless foul language that doesn’t advance the plot but just offends, the hostility between characters is ugly, the treatment of the children is downright abusive, coyly flipping a stereotype so that the Asian girl rather than being conscientious and instead is a drug addict isn’t funny, the depiction of rich white Americans being down & out in their 5 bedroom two-storey, double luxury car lifestyle is further example of vulgar bad taste and typically American tone deafness, and finally the whole thing is about 40 minutes too long. Avoid unless you wish to feel sickened and bored and repulsed by all that is white America all at once

Villains dressed in Master-Chief style body armour standing still waiting to get chopped in half by recycled double-ended light sabre from Star Wars merch store while hero tears up from time to time usually after uttering mild obscenities to 12 year old smart-mouthed boy/son while mum goes to work doing who knows what while inexplicably mourning the loss of husband “still” after bit over a year as time-travel is achievable yet undesirable because future self must never talk to past self or Armageddon will ensue while Lara Croft wannabe does some slow motion running through the forest but has no other purpose in the film other than to provide muted sex appeal to teenage geek gamer boys as dialogue comes so fast and overlapping yet has no substance or meaning that the actors are just babbling as they try to get this awful production over with ASAP finally poor Catherine Keener looks like she’s about to cry all the time as it dawns on her and her only that acting in this thing is pretty much the end of the road/bottom of the barrel.
