At first I thought it was just another typical “creature feature”, but the more I watched, the more engaged I got. While the film has roughly three words spoken in the film’s entirety , the entertaining aspect was enough to make up for the lack of dialogue. What kept my attention, was the fact that the aliens acted in a way that sets them apart from other alien movies such as War of the Worlds, Signs etc, because these creatures actually have the power of telekinesis. While we don’t know much about Brynn other than her parents are dead as well as is what appears to be her best friend Maude. We see an inner conflict with Brynn as she comes to terms with Maude’s death and her being the direct cause. It was almost as if the Aliens cleansed her conscience and gave closure to their friendship. Having said that, I was still drawn to Brynn’s character and felt empathy for her. The ending has a twist that surprisingly felt cathartic, it’s worth the watch if you like sci-fi thrillers. Kudos to Hulu.
