The game is way too long. I'm at 50 hours and it's still going!! The big problem is that once you reach 10 hours, you've seen the entire experience for the next 50 hours....rinse repeat the same sequence(destroy nest, rescue fetch quests, kill maurauders....sprinkled with brief cutscenes. Now about those, they're mostly meaningless! The meaningful cutscenes and dialogues are VERY FEW (90% of them are truly meaningless and repetitive. They don't matter and are there to pad the game).
"DE..EEACANN st- john!!" "Hey deek!"
Your radio is constantly ringing with meaningless conversations. Like seriously, I not overly exagerating. Every 5 minutes, while you hunt, scavenge, go on a "mission"(fetch quests).
The reason it gets high scores is for two things it does VERY WELL:
1- The environment really nails the Campy feeling. It's beautiful, the landscaping feels extremely realistic.
2- Riding the motorcye in the woods is just freakin awesome!! Its well done A+
This is a 6.0/10 game. Sure it has gameplay but 50+ hours of nothing else. That sething else meaningful cutscenes that add to the story(and pacing). If you don't find the first 5 hours amazing, then don't waste your time as it doesn't get any better. The story is uninteresting, lacks depth. Don't expect any character development. The "bad guys" have no lasting value.
The game feels like the Devs started by building the oregon forest and then mashing zombies across the map and decided to skip on hiring talented writers. They just improvised what the plot is going to be once they finished all the assets.
