Awful. One dimensional. Patronising.
This adaptation has a truly terrible script that contains zero subtext or asks any actual acting from its cast members. There were some positives though.
Some of the casting is actually well considered & their choices for Sokka & Katara particularly seem well suited to their roles. The sets are grand and some of the CGI is spectacular. But the general lighting is too garish & colours too glaringly obvious to be taken seriously as a physical world.
Above all else though, the whole spirit of growth, wit and compassion that was so intrinsic to the original Nickelodeon cartoon has been lost. Instead it has been replaced by 'lets just keep say everything that's on our minds over and over and over and chatter away like were are living on the set of some cheap telenovela.'
Overall this is a huge waste of what was a wonderful opportunity.
At its best: Good cosplay.
At it worst. The writing is painful and repetitive.
Honestly it's So Bad.
So. Bad.
