An intensely quiet film about ordinary people achieving extraordinary heights. A mainstream film with organic realism. So much of it happens at an internal level. Armstrong's silent, emotional, final farewell to his daughter was one of those unforgettable moments. It was brief and yet so profound. It took me completely by surprise. And finally, I'm so relieved that the flag wasn't made a big deal of! That Chazelle is an extremely accomplished director is patently obvious. Looking foward to seeing what he conjures up next.
