The first 4 seasons were quite good ; however, the with departure of Delroy Lindo as Adrian Boseman , the last 2 seasons were difficult to get through. The writing is scattered in the last 2 seasons ; there is no sense of direction. What makes it barely tolerable is the acting, but it’s still a struggle to watch.

The series gets bogged down with irrelevant side stories. These digressions are exhausting and tiresome to endure. In addition, in attempting to create an inclusive cast of characters that reflects today’s society the show only adds appendages that diminish the core of the story. This strained and seemingly forced agenda makes this easily the weakest Star Trek series. Too bad because the main storyline holds and there are some excellent acting performances but it’s entangled within the messaging of a political affirmation of where the company and/or writers stand.
