This is amongst the top tier roguelites in the genre. From a small studio that has implemented a bunch of ideas that you think wouldn’t work well together (and they very VERY much do) Listen I love roguelites but I don’t care much for Farm Sim games or city building, But since this one implements everything into your battles for the stages, getting companions and leveling them up, beautiful visuals, AMAZING price at $24.99, characters you have love for, Pleasing aesthetic, and complete natural progression (by the way no sleep is required in the farming sim side of things) AND it’s made by a small studio? Indie devs are winning this generation by a mile. This gets a highly rare 10 out of 10 and is right next to Clair obscure as the best and most innovative titles of the year. BRAVO team 10🌟

Poetry in motion. I was preparing for silksong by replaying the original, I forgot how tedious the beginning of that game was and how good it ends up getting! But this one starts you off with a bang, The character is likable and has charm, It has less of the dread from the original so the color palette is a nice addition. The combat is smooth and the 60fps on the switch 2 is impressive! The upgrades are stellar and the fact that you get a map earlier on (Red beads are currency) And I’ve found more benches around as well, The combat is as great as always. Those complaining only have nostalgia goggles on because as someone who’s played through the original on 3 occasions (including all dlc) this is a step up from what was already a phenomenal game. The aesthetic is as poetic as always, Team cherry does it again! (By the way I’m only 4 hours in, as I work but I will update once I have more time in and when I’ve beaten the game as well) This is as good as it gets! Thank you for the quality team cherry! You’re the only devs who have had the Eshop, Steam and Xbox mess up over everyone trying to get the product simultaneously, So far this is the easiest 10/10 I can possibly give y. BRAVO

About 3 hours into the game. If you’re not aware this game was made a single developer for 3 years until Sony stepped in and purchased the title along with the developer to continue development of the game as they were impressed. They added a team of 45 out of college devs who were also equally inexperienced, So taking that into account, it’s an impressive game. It’s buggy as all hell, has visual hiccups, isn’t the prettiest title, and it’s very linear, but it’s got heart. The story is a bit on the nonsensical side but considering that final fantasy 16 has a team of over 3,500 devs and I had less fun with the title, that says something. I’ll leave my full review once finished but all in all not too bad! Play the demo before you drop the $60 (or $70 for the premium edition) and if you got the game physical please note that it has more bugs present than the digital version at this time (no idea why, could be the inexperience we spoke of earlier) All in all, I’m equally impressed and frustrated with the title because the combat is so smooth and every other aspect is…not. This has to be the biggest gift ever to retro gamers everywhere. And a shadow drop at that! I was a little kid during the NES era and grew up on unforgiving games, This is that. Every game will remind you of one that was published back in the day. It’s charming, it’s brutally unforgiving, but once you learn and beat a stage it’s extremely rewarding. It’s easier if you put the games “released by year” in the format as you know that earlier games have a different vibe to the late 80’s games. It’s perfect. This is what Action 52 promised to be and never was, This is retro paradise and only the 4th time I’ve ever given a game a 10 in my life. But man this one earns every bit of that. WELL DONE. 10/10 game of the year contender right next to Expedition 33 and DK bananza, if you’re thinking about it then get it. Master your craft, and let’s compete for high scores 🫡🌟

I’m really enjoying the title! Just picked it up physically on the switch and the art style is GORGEOUS. Take into account that this is an indie game made by a VERY small development team on a minuscule budget, And you’ll see what they accomplished is pretty great! If you love games such as Hades (roguelites/Roguelikes) you owe it to yourself to check this one out! There’s 3 campaigns and not a lot of enemy variety, But honestly it hits the spot in what I wanted from a smaller game right now while I wait for the bigger ones to drop. After finishing Donkey Kong bananza I needed something much more lowkey and chill without the huge undertaking, So it’s a perfect time for me. On the grander scale it doesn’t hold a candle to Hades or Risk of rain 2, But it’s standing strongly close to that candle. 8.5/10 for me personally, On an indie level, 7/10 in the grand scheme of things, Check it out! (This was reviewed and played on the switch 2 and PC)

I’m not a huge fan of all the yakuza games, But I do end up buying them all (including side stories like judgement, Gaiden and now pirates) And this has to be hands down the best open sea pirate game since AC black flag. It’s wacky for sure with musical numbers, breaking the 4th wall and not taking itself seriously but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m having a blast It has a serious arcade game collection as well as sega master system games, This game is more appealing to me than the recent turn based games, I love turn based games but I still don’t care how it feels within the dragonverse, This one however is easily their best entry to me since yakuza 0, tons of fun, great story, beautiful graphics and overall exactly what you would want from this title, only downside is its short at 27 hours and about 60 for completionists, But with less time to at we have as adults it’s a sweet spot for me, an easy 9 out of 10, here’s too many more side stories 🍻

Deleted my entire review of 2 stars, Why? Well…it got much MUCH better (and the day 2 patch helped immensely) The frame rate is stable now, the screen tearing is barely there and that’s what the big damper was for me as I LOVE the story. Is it original? Not really in the big sense of things but it has originality in it, Which is more than I can say for most games that are copy/paste nowadays. I’m 39, I come from the NES era and as much as I love GTA, This is more in the Mafia 1 side of things. It’s linear, you drive from point A to point B, get back to point A and continue on. You can’t leave your car to steal others but there’s some to choose from, you can randomly race in between the story missions amongst a few other things in the “play” category on your phone. I was tough on it at first because it pissed me off that it shipped out so unfinished but credit where credit is due, it’s mostly fixed. They really need to work on the shooting mechanics, And the driving having some impact, Leslie is a vet in the field but it’s the first game run under his new company, everyone is way too harsh on this, It’s an indie title disguised as a AAA one. It should’ve been $49.99 at most, but hey, it’s playable, great story, graphic stuttering aside (day one) it’s actually gotten to aplayable state. Im looking forward to what the community gets to create! I went from a 4/10 to a 7.5/10, still 18 missions in, 11 hours, Will gladly play the rest and not refund it. Just, fix some stuff.
