Having actually played this unlike some of the one star reviewers, this game is horrendously generic and NOT worth the price, OR your time. The dialogue is immersion breaking and just so, so out of place in a """dark fantasy""" game. Not everything has to be an "epic" Marvel-tier one-liner. The graphics aren't even good for a game that came out in 2016, let alone 2024. The story is generic. BUT... the combat is decent. "Every interaction sounds like HR is in the room".

The first two movies were great, but damn... what a disappointment. I would say that the redeeming qualities this movie has is the sound effects team, set designers, and the acting, everything else is meh at best, especially the 'plot'. Not a whole lot really even happened after the first 20 minutes or so. It's a little unfortunate that the aliens weren't explained a bit more, but at least we get to see how they arrived (kinda?). Why do the two main protags go out of their way to make so much noise? I genuinely cannot believe anyone can give this anything higher than a 3/5 (6/10).

It's not "bad", but definitely far from being good. X is like Y. Why? When? How? Nothing is even explained or even hinted at, other than "yes, x is y". All of the previous movies explain at least some of what's going on, why it happened, and how it happened. This one doesn't, which is lazy and, to me, very poor writing. The CGI is great and no over the top, the acting seems believable, but good Lord that story is awful.

The world, the graphics, the animations (Motion capture, but still), the voice acting, and the environmental SFX are absolutely fantastic... but that's about it.... The gameplay is stale and the gunplay is horrendous. The whole game just feels... wrong. There's bugs that softlock the game, crashes to desktop, and poor framerates on high-end hardware (Consoles too, that's even worse), just to name a FEW of the things wrong with this game. Refunded on Steam. I may purchase it again once it's on sale and the bugs are fixed. I cannot recommend this game at this time.

I don't know what I was expecting to be honest. You can tell the people who made this series didn't play the original games, read the books, nor do they seem to particularly care about the fanbase or even the general TONE of the franchise. Instead, they're milking an already pre-established audience and fanbase and inserting American politics into it along with a poorly written "story." Don't bother/10.

Remember how good the first one was? Remember that the previous two were okayish, but a bit "ehhhhh" in placed? Multiply that "ehhhh" by about 10, insert current year irrelevant American political issues (irrelevant to the story), a couple of lines of cringe, a wooden actor or two, and there you have it. The 4th movie. Just like a lot of reboots - that nobody asked for, by the way - new and old things are brought up and/or shown, which is a complete and utter waste of everybody's time. New things like a machine civil war were brought up and never explained or expanded upon. The fact that some people are still alive are never explained or expanded upon. The fact that some people aren't alive isn't explained or expanded upon. New tech is never explained or expanded upon. New machines are never explained or expanded upon. I could go on, but I'll save someone a read. So yeah, don't bother, unless you fancy leaving a poor review like me.
