The release of the acolytes first two episodes has immediately immersed viewers into a universe that we know very well, in a time period we aren’t so familiar with, and done so somewhat perfectly.
A sense of familiarity yet unpredictability echoes throughout both episodes in which the characters sol, vernestra and jecki perfectly execute the emotional restraint we know, love and associate with the Jedi in previous instalments, these aspects combined with the new narrative of an investigation into Jedi being murdered give a refreshing feel to the universe in which other productions have left a feeling of “we know what’s coming” however this time, we really don’t.
Exciting, unpredictable, immersive and choreographed excellently. This is the tip of a new era for Star Wars fans.
