In the end, when she woke up to an advanced 2099 in a spaceship with some machines connected to the people, at that very moment, the whole drama was absolutely pointless.
Literally, anything is possible if it is actually a dream simulation in the spaceship. No logical pattern to the story. No point in his father experimenting on brains, the characters' PTSD, or the boy's death. It's sad... Why must they crush the ending like this? :'(
