I do not understand why so many people hated this film -- you have to know what you are getting into when you watch a Cronenberg film. Brilliant, brooding, all performances amazing, especially Viggo and Lea Seydoux. Cronenberg is the master; I saw his student films back around 1971 and have never looked back. Yes, it is an art film; no, it is not a mass audience film, none of his films have ever been. I believe that this film will stand the test of time, prescient and intelligent and one of Cronenberg's best, possibly his final film.
