As someone who enjoys and often watches science-fiction movies, I can say I did enjoy some of this movie. I appreciated the concept and thought that the message was very relevant to modern day society. Online media is consumed now more than ever, and as society advances, so does technology. It made sense that the writers would choose VR as their bridge into a fully immersive online world, because in real life, VR exists like that in a similar way. I also liked the editing style, and thought that the visual effects of warping one scene into another added to the overall movie.
However, I will say that overall, it was not my favorite film. Although the concept and editing was intriguing, I felt that it lacked a certain quality within the acting, set, and script that did not allow me as a viewer to feel immersed and captured. I appreciated the message and intention, but unfortunately, not the execution.
