Don’t believe the haters… this film is a good time. We all know that DC films tend to be “dark” visually as well as in tone … and while this is somewhat visually similar to those that came before, it was obviously done with a lighter hand. I appreciate all of the flashbacks to characters past and present, especially Supermen Christopher Reeve and Nicolas Cage. (If you don’t know about Cage as Superman, look it up.). This film is a riff on the FLASHPOINT comic - and while not as easily understandable or as exciting as Flashpoint, it is still an enjoyable take on that familiar story, Note: While Marvel has a spent a lot of money and time trying to explain how time and how a multiverse works, in “The Flash,” DC was able to explain it in a manner that most everyone could understand .. and they did it in just ONE scene! I am looking forward to watching this movie again, and THAT is about the best thing you can say about a “super hero” movie.
Note: Too bad that WB didn’t simply release the Snyder Cut of Justice League and hadn’t tried to stuff far too many plots into Batman V Superman, perhaps a full reboot of the DCU wouldn’t be needed.
