Is there anybody out there? There surely is and they're heading our way! This is the basic premise of 3 Body Problem and it all starts during the cultural revolution in China with the brutal murder of a physicist in front of his young daughter. Fast forward to the present day and a scientific community disintegrating because the science is no longer working. Amidst the chaos are a group of friends connected to the past, present and future by a series of unsettling events that provoke them to challenge reality. The story is a simple one: play the game and try to save mankind or choose not to play and face the gruesome consequences.

An intriguing insight into our future relationship with artificial intelligence. The film has a serene unsettling quality about it which leaves you quietly on edge until its final breath!

An enchanting and timely tale of man's reckless and selfish approach towards the natural world and the inevitable consequences for the animals that depend upon it for their survival. But do not despair because there is always hope whilst those that oppose such recklessness are prepared to stand up and fight to steer us all in a more harmonious direction.

Film noir at its very best with this classic from the Coen brothers. There's a moral to this tale: if the money isn't yours then don't take it. Because if you do then you'll wish you hadn't been born. No really... Leave it be! Please!

I just couldn't warm to it, which is a shame because I wanted to! It tried to rely on the strength of the characters, but they weren't that likeable nor that developed. So that just left the garden, which wasn't really a secret nor that interesting a place! And there wasn't enough in between to hold it together.

A raw and bleak landscape envelopes this stoic adaptation of Emily Bronte's one and only novel. What it lacks in hope it more than makes up for in despondency. Let there be light I hear you asking. Well there isn't any. Which is what I'm sure the author intended!

A sci fi movie for grown ups that keeps you there from start to finish. It asks as many questions as it answers! But hey, in this let's spell it out with a flash-bang wallop, 'cos ya might get bored kinda world, that's got to be a good thing...right?

Bleak and troubled, but not in a good way! If it had stuck to doing the basics instead of trying too hard then it might have been intriguing. But it didn't, so it ended up in a bit of a mess!

Nature does the talking in this beautifully shot film about the bond between boy and wolf in an unforgiving Ice Age world.
