Started out OK. Graphics are very nice, that is except for the main character you play. When your character is talking to someone they get this weird, ugly hangdog look on their face. SO WEIRD. Also did NOT like the fact you don't either get a designed name for your character OR get to pick your name. All the other games I play use one or the other naming method. in this game you are forced to use your account profile name. I played under my son's profile because he was the one who bought the game, so the entire game all the NPCs called me by that profile name and I do NOT like that at all! then, unfortunately it went south from there. the game is incredibly grindy. Even with only a minimum of crops planted, it takes forever to tend to them and the animals you are raising. It took me over half the day to just get it all done every game day. then there's the issue of the crops being so damn complicated. There are different crops for each season and location. you can't buy anything but a few basic seeds. Then you have to jump through hoops to change these crops with expensive "magic fertilizer". And of course, earning money is a pain in the butt until the end of the game. Your animals are a pain in the butt and constantly get in your when working on your crops. By the time you finish your farm work there's basically no time to do quests to earn money, cause then you have to do the dungeons, which are unnecessarily grindy and difficult for this type of game. The relationships you have with the locals is so shallow its not worth trying to make friends, date or get married. In the end, I just forgot about my crops and animals and let them fend for themselves except for the minimum of what I needed to complete quests. I just powered through that last frustrating dungeon so I could get the heck out of dodge. I didn't even unlock my last farm. it wasn't worth it.

I played this game for about an hour and decided to delete it. The game was described as an open world of relaxing puzzles that wouldn't drive you crazy trying to solve them. Only a handful of islands in, I found myself trapped, unable to figure out how to proceed in any direction. The hints are useless. All they showed was where to put the logs. That I could figure out. What I needed help with was hints on how to get the logs into that position. In some cases I could see a way to do it, but the game mechanics won't allow it. I normally get upset in having to delete a game that I am enjoying when I get too stuck to continue. However, in this case I didn't mind beyond the lose of the money I spent on it, because I wasn't enjoying it. I'm sure some people like this sort of game. I'm just not one of them. Not only did I find the puzzles frustrating, I also found the game boring with no objective except to go around reading scathing indictments of human culture, western culture specifically. I also found the mechanics to be herky-jerky causing the character to bang into stuff all the time. Also, this game is far from being the open world game they promised.
