After watching the movie, I went onto google to see how the first separated twins were doing. It turns out after the op they were both profoundly disabled. One was completely mute and died young. The other one has to be tube fed, cannot talk etc. the mother regretted agreeing to do the op and the father was never able to cope with the boys and became an alcoholic. think it’s a pity that in the movie the operation was SO glorified and yet the outcome was actually so tragic and that NO mention was made of this in the film.
