The movie is a true cinematic masterpiece. The plot, the characters the backstory. So much detail goes into each character but also leaves plenty of room for the audience to theorize of why Blue is so cool with everything or why Red is so tough. We also see so much go into the twins Black and White, even though it’s never explicitly said the writing makes it so clear to understand the emotion that the two are feeling; depression and anxiety which is so heavy for a kids movie to discuss but I think they portrayed just the right amount. When they are never being used in drawing it really a
makes you think. Throughout the movie though, we see Black care more and more and we witness so much character development in White and Yellow who slowly conquer their fears. Green and the professor were my personal favorites, Green had amazing character moments and ALL the professor’s scene COMEDY GOLD. He’s not even a main character but managed to always have me laughing. Don’t even get me started on Yellow’s story line with the “antagonists” who we get to learn about more and more as the movie continues and that they just want to be colored. It was so heartwarming to see Yellow come to the realization that just because people are different doesn’t make them bad, or as The Hero Of Color City puts it “monsters” which is just perfect for children to learn about. The older audience also gets much entertainment seeing the romance between Blue and Yellow that always kept us on the edge of our seat. Another thing I would like to address is the soundtrack. All the voice acting was AMAZING, especially Yellow’s screams. Green’s singing in “Heave Ho (the boat song)” was PHENOMENAL and that song also summed up everyone’s character the right way and I always adored Yellow’s solo. One more thing is how underrated Tutti Frutti’s character was, loved her. I hope someday the human race will turn their heads and rediscover this movie and realize how glorious the writing is. The Hero Of Color City is one-hundred percent the best movie in history and shows us so much, waiting on the sequel, I would rate it ten septillion stars if I could.
