Disappointed with this one. Loved following Joe Pickett up until now. I found the part of the plot (spoiler alert) with the fake bear attacks unbelievable and too many people were dying. Not his best work.

I read Book Lovers by Emily Henry and really enjoyed it. Just read Happy Place and was disappointed. Found myself skipping paragraphs and pages. It picked up at the end, but it was a long wait.

I enjoyed reading The Magician, so I thought I would try Nora Webster. Not nearly as good. Read the first 10 chapters and that will be it. Don't even care to finish. The story doesn't seem to go anywhere. Some interesting scenes, but too many mundane narratives in between.

Agree with most other reviews. Interesting facts about Libya, but then by page 250 didn't care if they got her back or not. Tired of reading about private jets, million dollar vacation homes, expensive hotels, what they ate/drank or didn't eat or drink. Ending was dull. Still don't know who kidnapped her with the resources for surveillance and bombing law offices.

Just watched season 1. Spoiler alert - Let me see, the father kills a priest and and an FBI agent, Ray kills a priest, Sully kills his wife and a woman who hooked up with Ray's father and Sean Walker. Did I miss any murders? Micky continues to give his alcoholic son drinks. No one is held accountable. The women in their lives still love them. Ray spends a lot of time tracking down Sully's friend, but doesn't ask where Sully is, instead sets up a meet out on a pier after the friend tells him that Sully is out of control, resulting in a shootout. Huh? Ezra recovers from brain surgery in 2 days. I don't get the rave reviews. Gratuitous sex scenes every show. Geez.

Very disappointed. The complainant was stilted and hard to read. Her behavior was inconsistent. A lot of repetition in the book. I loved the premise and learned a lot about judge's oversight, though. Grisham's earlier books were much better.

Started out very good, but then I found myself skipping sentences, then paragraphs. The story got to be too fantastic and then (spoiler alert) having him die like that was just crazy. So my recommendation would be to read a little more than half the book and make up your own ending. You'll be much happier.
