Agree with many other reviews. I liked the book until SPOILER the reporter broke into the storage unit to get evidence-would it even be admissable in court, and, of course the ending.

I enjoyed the movie up until the scene where the knife salesman confronts the couple with the baby, near the end. So stupid. Why not wait until they go back to the gas station to call the police and then just drive away?
And why was the 1 bank robber the only one who looked hot? They made a point of the heat and no A/C. No one even took his jacket off or ordered iced tea instead of hot coffee. And when did they rob the bank? Before the bank opened? If it was after the bank opened, shouldn't the diner be open by then? A lot to overlook for complete enjoyment of the movie.

I am so glad I waited to do this review. After about 200 pages, I had lost interest and was wondering if I should even spend time finishing the book. I am glad I continued on. Turned out to be a wonderful story/stories. Don't give up on it.

I hate the way Jack Reacher has been turned into a violent aggressive character. He used to be someone who was violent only when necessary in order to help others. Now it reads as if he looks for it and enjoys it. Sad.

Just watched it in 2025. Not agreeing with most reviews. Found it slow paced until the end. Wouldn't an oil company pay a bonus when they signed the contract with his mother to drill? Wouldn't that have paid off the bank? Wasn't the whole bank robbing thing unnecessary?

Disappointed with this one. Loved following Joe Pickett up until now. I found the part of the plot (spoiler alert) with the fake bear attacks unbelievable and too many people were dying. Not his best work.

I read Book Lovers by Emily Henry and really enjoyed it. Just read Happy Place and was disappointed. Found myself skipping paragraphs and pages. It picked up at the end, but it was a long wait.

I enjoyed reading The Magician, so I thought I would try Nora Webster. Not nearly as good. Read the first 10 chapters and that will be it. Don't even care to finish. The story doesn't seem to go anywhere. Some interesting scenes, but too many mundane narratives in between.
