I’m trying to wrap my head around how this game missed the mark so badly. Maps are too big, only two game modes on 7 maps that are 32v32 (so expect to be getting lasered from every direction). Breakthrough when it works makes it almost impossible for the attacking team to win because the map is too big so you’re chances of getting shot trying to get to the objective is outrageously high. Also if you have to capture any skyscraper, the only viable option for getting there is the 1 helicopter that gets shot down most of the time or taking a zip line or elevator where 5+ people are all waiting for the doors to open. The fact that they got rid of some of the best game modes with less players (like Rush) baffles me because not everyone wants to be fighting 32 man teams. Next, the gadgets in this game are ridiculously overpowered, automatic turrets and robot dogs that you can place and rack up a ridiculous amount of kills with while you camp with an LMG that has zero recoil and a 100% of putting anyone 6 feet under with 3-5 shots. Overall, I expected this game to be like battlefield 3/4 but it was a huge letdown.
Battlefield developers, you need to listen to your fan base and get back to the basics of BF3/BF4 (hell I’d gladly take a remastered version of BF4), because if you don’t you’re gonna end up a washed up game like COD. Keep the foundations/fundamentals of the older games while changing the environment because if you mess up on a map people are a lot more forgiving when the foundation/general gameplay of the game are the same, but not as much when people can’t even recognize the nostalgia of what they grew up on. If that’s the case, then don’t bother calling it Battlefield, just make it a new game series.
