This film was very well written. The characters that came from the start, such as the father and mother, had perfect character development. They showed no care for anything Coraline did because they were to busy working, but in the end they're finally able to enjoy some quality family time. But to get back on topic. The curiosity of Coraline perfectly matches the way one could imagine they would act. The Beldam giving the kids anything they want is a tempting offer but it would come with a cost. The other characters like Mr. Boibinsky and Mrs. Spink and Forcible seem really weird but realistically they just misunderstood and are amazing parts to the story. The whole story is honestly perfect and to be able to make something like that out of clay is astonishing.
