For a plot to have twists it has to be a plot in the first place, weak storyline with more holes than a block of Swiss cheese. I don't think the scriptwriters had any idea how to end the monstrosity they created and just threw in the towel to put it out of it's misery, on the plus side, at least it's only 5 episodes in total!
