This book is truly dear to my heart. I first read it in elementary school at the 10. I didn't truly understand it then, but when I was given the task to read and write about a book I chose Watership Down. A cute book about rabbits right?
No, this book is a plea for humans, a book about politics, and a book about loss and freedom. Written in 1972 by Richard Adams this book still holds substance. Many will say this book is 'boring' or 'annoying' to read. But I think you should give it a chance. This book is mesmerising, a whole other level of creativity and care went into the writing of this book. It took years to be published, not because it's bad, but because it's thoughtful and frankly quite gruesome. It's a book of truths we as people would rather not confront. And even though it's doused in fiction and personification it still holds on to the important parts of truth and revelation.
Plus, rabbits.
