I totally enjoyed Rabbi Katz’s book Yochanin’s gamble. I highly recommend. The book was well written and showed his love of the Talmud while explaining the pragmatism of Judaism through stories and eyes and actions of various rabbis over centuries with the underlying principles established over two thousand years ago by Rabbi Yachanon for survival of Jewish people during the time of the destruction of the second temple. The message so resonated in today’s divisive world and how to find common ground to achieve peace through compromise and avoid infighting for the greater good. It’s message is so important and needed in todays challenges I had the unique privilege to interview Rabbi Katz introducing him to a group of Jewish men in our area It was my honor to do so and the presentation was well received Members are still discussing its impact and message.
