I listened to the whole book today. Couldn't stop. As one addicted to backpacking I've hiked most of the AT and PCT trails & am faniliar with many of the locations and some of the people the author spoke of. While staying in Packwood in August of 2019, there were a lot of missing person posters for Sherpa (AKA Chris Fowler). So sad. Really great book. Plan to read again, but slowly!

I listened to the Audible book in 2021, before thru hiking the AT. I thought I'd never get lost, since had GPS on my phone. I had to leave the trail to relieve myself, just like Inchworm. When I tried to get back , GPS said I was already on the AT. After walking a few yards, GPS said I was off trail. It took me 3 hours to find the trail. Vegetation is so dense in Maine. Without GPS, I could wandered off.
