I think this film shows just how vulnerable she really was! Deprived of a father, mother was an addict and blamed her for the loss of her partner therefore took it out on the child as her pain was too much to bear. Spent her whole life looking for a father replacement hence calling them all ‘Daddy’ being used and abused by everyman she came into contact with even those who professed to love her ! Not actually connecting with the Marilyn character as she saw herself as Norma Jean and being Marilyn was just her job! It showed her as a very lonely, lost little girl that never really grew up ! In my opinion a very strong portrayal of a beautiful tormented soul ……
