Now in 2019 it is a prophetic presentation. When I had first read the book in the 1970's I thought it was a critique of the Soviet Union. Now in this age of Artificial Intelligence, robots and spy cameras I consider this as a very human document depicting the gradual decline of the individual human being to irrelevance in an impersonal world with a command based social, political and economic systems.
