Connor Darity

This movie was underwhelming at most. We watched this film as a class and I have to do a debate on it. This particular film however, is not that good. This movie has bad writing. At times it is funny (like the obese security cop not doing anything and the guy with a bloody fingers (I loved him)), but most times it isn't. I thought the side plot of the girlfriend that got abused and how 'John Q' figured it out was just stupid. How would he know about the particular car? He shows no prior knowledge of being a car nerd. This moment was put in the movie to be 'pro-feminist', when in actuality, it wouldn't have happened. Also the part where he is shot is just completely wrong. Why does he stand there for a minute and then slowly fall? Why wouldn't he just be instantly shocked. And in the scene where broken finger guy walks out of the hospital, 1. Why wouldn't they take off his hood to see it wasn't him 2. Why wouldn't they instantly flood the building to check for any other damage or hostages. And the ending scene in the court was dumb. Why is everyone rooting for him, even the doctor? The doctor was inches away from death (gun) and even though it wasn't loaded, this is still a serious offense. This movie was sub-par, therefore it gets one star.
