Just finished watching this movie, which had the perfect premise of being a memorable one, instead ends up being a sloppy adventure. The jumpscares thrown in the mix let's you wonder as to whether it's a sci-fi movie or not.
One thing which is clear is that you need a central premise and a corresponding storyline to make a good movie. While it has the former, it fails miserably in the latter. Certain mistakes are too bold to miss, for instance the rope scene, where the rope's length comes first to the mind.
The actors did justice to whatever they could offer, but without any assistance in the form of any script they falter.
It's a nice case study of what not to do while attempting such an endeavour.
PS: I was seriously hoping of a connection with human evolution, for instance, like Kia's parents escaped and survived and marked the beginning of human evolution. Instead, such an abrupt ending leaves you unsatisfied.
