I did not enjoy his book. I did not like the writing style, the lack of a solid plot, or the overall message from the book. Candence is portrayed as a victim and has the "woe is me" attitude. At the end she remembers the stupid decisions made by herself and her group. There is no repercussions for what happened. It's a poor rich kid story that I would not recommend to anyone.
The majority of the book is her suffering migraines and her metaphors on life. There is no beauty in her mental health issue, and I don't understand what people are seeing to make this a beautiful masterpiece. The family is portrayed as cold and money hungry. I would not want my teen to read this. There is no lessons learned, and without a meaningful moral of the story I feel it is not worth reading. No I don't think the the loss of her friends and family count.
