Wow. Remember the conflicted feeling that the first movie brought forth about the empathy you felt for a villain? That sadness that made you think, “I dont blame the Joker for turning out the way he did.” Well this second movie completely ruins that. I was so upset by the “twist” in this movie…I wish I had never seen it. How could they completely negate everything they accomplished in the first movie?! Don’t go see this.

I thought this movie was so much fun, but my expectations were pretty low after reading the reviews beforehand. I’m honestly confused at all the 1 star ratings after seeing it. I think people went in expecting something very specific, which is setting yourself up for disappointment. I’ve seen some *actual* 1 star movies, and this is not that…but I guess it is just a matter of opinion. I wouldn’t let the negative reviews stop you from seeing it because it almost stopped me. Anyway, I appreciate the nostalgia, the quirkiness, and the character links to the original. I’m probably going to go watch it again. 😅
