This adaptation stayed true to the script but strayed from the characters' bookish appearances. Despite this, the actors delivered outstanding performances. I especially loved Dior—she brought an infuriating yet captivating personality to life so well. The trio shared great chemistry, and their dynamic was absolutely adorable.
While the last episode deviated from the book, I found Lance Reddick’s portrayal incredibly compelling. His intense performance, especially when he yelled at Percy, gave me chills. The scene where he was about to throw the lightning bolt, only for Poseidon to arrive just in time to save his son, was a standout moment. Even with the changes, I enjoyed the series for what it was.
The character development, the deepening friendships, and the emotional core of the show were handled beautifully. It’s a significant improvement over the movie, particularly in terms of accuracy to the source material.
I’m eagerly waiting for Sea of Monsters!
