I found myself reliving the same feelings I had when I watched the original for the first time: wonder, joy, heartbreak, and awe. I genuinely didn’t think they could recapture that depth, but they did—and in some moments, even amplified it. The chemistry between Hiccup and Toothless still feels as real and powerful as ever. The bond, the growth, the silent understanding—it’s all there. And the supporting characters are just as memorable, brought to life by a cast that clearly respects and understands the story they’re telling. This film is not just a retelling; it’s a love letter to the original, crafted with care, heart, and purpose. Every live-action adaptation should take a note from this one. It honours its source material while standing tall as a brilliant film in its own right. I walked out of the theatre truly happy. Not just entertained, but moved. That’s rare—and it’s why this movie deserves to be remembered.
