For the longest time, I put off trying "The Witcher 3" because I'm not the type to dive into extremely hyped games, typically I wait for the initial excitement to die down.
Now that I actually took the chance to, my first impression was that I'm rather disappointed. But with the reminder that it was an older game I'll mostly keep comments about controls to the side (movement did feel like turning a brick though).
As for story, I felt it impossible to follow. Very much feels like you would need prior knowledge from the books to understand (which I have read) but the visuals are incredibly disorienting. And the fact I'm forced to look at too mostly nude characters within the first 10 minutes isn't favorable to me as well. I'm here for story enrichment, not Yennefer's bare behind on my screen (and personally I don't want Geralt naked on my screen either, it's just uncomfortable).
Tutorial was easier to grasp but didn't have a decent way of engaging me and it all felt pretty generic. The ability selections feel kind of tedious but I do appreciate the concept but when in use it feels pretty empty.
I really wanted to be captivated by this game but nothing kept my attention and personally I think I'll be sticking with the book series!
