Like most of Doctorow's non-fiction, this is a well thought through and story illustrated discussion of Copyright in general. From the origins of Copyright laws, through the changes in who actually benefits from copyright laws (spoiler: it's NOT the creators).
As usual, Doctorow's command & understanding of real life economics plays a big part. The audio version is read by Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher from Star Trek: Next Generation) and available on Spotify (and perhaps other services). This is a worthy read or listen for anyone curious about how copyright functions.
