I found the series to be uneven and the culmination of episode 8 unsatisfying. That said, it was well acted and paced, and contrary to the broader opinion, I thought the flashbacks added to the story. My greatest problem with Beacon 23 is what remains moving forward. We either learn the artifacts purpose and message or we don’t. In either case, I can’t see how subsequent episodes can rise to a comparable level of suspense. I love sci-fi so I will watch season two, but appointment television it is not.
