3/10 I didn't even like the the 13 ghosts of scooby doo all that much but this movie soured the tv show experience. i recommend watching the cartoon and skipping this movie. spoilers: The characters: Fred has an unfunny early life crisis, Velma skeptics hard until she 180's near the middle and then 180's again near the end. Scrappy was turned into a one off unfunny joke. Boogle and weird aren't even mentioned. Vincent just up and looses his powers which i don't even remember being explained. The fbi dude was barely set up. I Like what they did with shaggy, scooby and daphne as they all become braver and more self confident. Flim Flam is far more bearable in this movie being little more than a side note most times. As for the plot i find it insulting as someone who liked the premise of the show. The villain is another dude in a mask, the chest is a fake, the villain's car isn't explained, there's NO real magic in this movie except (arguably) the vision of vincents ancestor near the end and the magic tricks the villain uses. i repeat there's no magic in the continuation of the series which was one of the first noteable cases of magic in scooby doo. the jokes are so forgetable i don't remember any of them except the scrappy joke and that's only because i'm angry they didn't even acknowledge him. He was a core character in the series and they just throw him away like he was trash. This entry into the scooby doo franchise and the 2nd zombie island movie make me think they are purposely trying to de-magic scooby doo which defeats the purpose of both of the entries and many others which contain magic. I'm hoping they don't make reluctant werewolf 2 or ghoul school 2 or witch's ghost 2 as they would somehow make it non-magical which was a huge part of watching these entries: the break from the standard scooby doo formula. This movie was the Teen Titans Go of scooby doo: good for little kids with little knowledge of the original and litle sense as to what's good but to anyone else a sad attempt at best, a betrayal at worst.
