This movie is an absolute masterpiece. it takes a very special kind of person, watching it alone, to really see that. Conventionally speaking it wasn't that good, but if you have the depth of character to appreciate the symbolism and the meaning of things beyond the surface level. The movie is like a love letter. It's like a joke being told from the lips of someone whose about to kill themselves. It's silly, but you can't really laugh at it. It requires you to really have followed adam sandler's performances through the years. You have to be a goof ball whose been slowly losing the shine of hope across decades. Just like how we went from Billy Madison, to Click, to Spaceman. Every inch of this movie is crawling with the uncomfortable realities of severe mental illness and catharsis. This is a movie for the deeply disturbed to find a friend when they're lost in space by themselves with nothing but a screen to reach for others.
