Dune '21 deserves merit for fulfilling something of an ambitious storytelling promise. Delivered is stunning sight and sound, a visceral experience so entertaining that most viewers are too stunned to see flaws in the screenplay. Aside from poor decisions to change character attributes, Herbert's story is too dense for its own Hollywood good. Understandable that nuances are not of interest to many movie-goers and too many details derail attention spans. Perhaps three seasons of 13 1-hr episodes would better serve attention spans, financial considerations, and, most importantly, the author's magnum opus.
