I'm gonna be honest and say that this movie was incredible to watch as a long time fan of the franchise. Every little Easter egg thrown in by Scott had me and many others jumping out of our seats, whether at the movies or at home. However, still as a fan, I feel like the horror/thriller aspect was lost. Whether it was the animatronics just being goofy or the lighting being very vibrant, it all didn't really add together and every scene was pretty painful to watch. The movie is nice, for the fans scavenging for Scott's little goodbye gifts sprinkled into the project. But when looking at the movie and it's plot, kill scenes and emotion building, it's honestly one of the biggest flops I've seen in ages (excluding Marvel movies).
