Movie Review: Thama (2025) ⭐ Rating: 3/5 Good one-time watch with laughs, imagination, and a fresh twist to the universe. Maddock’s horror-comedy universe adds another film to its lineup with Thama — a vampire-based story connected to the same world as Stree 2, Bhediya, and Munjya. This time, the story introduces a new species — a community that’s not human, known as the Betal. The concept is interesting, and it fits well in Maddock’s growing horror-comedy universe. The first half moves a bit slow, but the second half becomes more engaging and energetic. The movie mainly focuses on how the main character becomes part of this Betal community — so in a way, it’s an origin story, introducing a new character to this cinematic universe. While the drama could’ve been stronger, the film works well for its humor, world-building, and connection to the Maddock horror-comedy lineup. It’s entertaining, funny in parts, and worth a watch. If I had to rank the movies in this universe: 1️⃣ Bhediya – most entertaining 2️⃣ Stree – excellent and unique 3️⃣ Munjya – fun and light 4️⃣ Thama – decent and enjoyable You shouldn’t go in with very high expectations just because Stree 2 and Shraddha Kapoor took the franchise to another level. Thama is still a good watch — it might not be a massive blockbuster, but it will definitely do well, likely crossing ₹100 crores worldwide. The only mistake — releasing it on a Tuesday. If they had gone with a Friday release, it could’ve earned more and benefited from two weekends. Overall, Thama is an entertaining addition to the Maddock horror-comedy universe — funny, creative, and a solid introduction to a new kind of story.

DUDE (Tamil) The movie carries a deeper message — once your love interest is gone, it’s gone. When you fall in love deeply and that person leaves or rejects you, it’s not easy to love them again the same way. You might move on and start falling for someone else, but you can’t go back to that same feeling. The story beautifully captures that emotion. There’s also a small touch of the caste angle shown in the film, which adds a bit of depth. ⭐ Rating: 3/5 Dude is a movie that feels like it’s made for today’s generation — but honestly, it connects with all generations. It’s a romance-comedy that starts on a really high note. From the very beginning, you feel connected to the characters. The emotions, the fun, the vibe — everything clicks. The love angle comes in naturally, and again, you feel connected. There’s emotion, humor, and a lot of moments that make you smile. The first half is extremely entertaining — especially the first 30 to 40 minutes, which are just amazing. The story keeps you hooked, and you start assuming what might happen next. Even in the last 15 minutes of the first half, you’re still curious and trying to guess where it’s going. But as the second half starts, the story takes a different direction. It’s not exactly predictable, but it’s not as strong as the first half either. That same excitement and connection you felt earlier slowly fade. The movie still holds your attention, but the magic that the first half gave doesn’t quite match up in the second. Still, Dude is a good, entertaining movie — definitely something you can watch at least twice. The actors have done an amazing job. Pradeep Ranganathan, the male lead, is so natural that you instantly connect with him. The female lead, Mamitha Baiju, is equally brilliant. Their chemistry looks great on screen and feels genuine. Overall, Dude starts really well, keeps you entertained throughout the first half, and though the second half slows down a bit, it’s still worth watching. A good, fun, and emotional movie — definitely worth a watch for its performances and an excellent first half.

Malayalam cinema continues to shine across genres, and Lokah Chapter 1 : Chandra is no exception. This grounded and entertaining superhero film is crafted with care, embracing simplicity and strong storytelling despite its modest budget. The direction is captivating, smoothly moving from regular drama into superhero territory while keeping you hooked. Performances are natural and powerful; with fewer characters, the film still creates the feel of a big-budget production. The VFX, tastefully done, add to the visual appeal without overwhelming. Superpowers are used sparingly and at the right moments, which makes them more impactful. By the end, the movie cleverly builds anticipation for the sequel by introducing intriguing new characters and planting narrative seeds—raising genuine excitement for what’s next. Verdict: Lokah Chapter 1 : Chandra is a refreshing and well-directed superhero origin story. It balances storytelling, action, and VFX smartly, leaving you eager for the next chapter.

Movie Review: Baaghi 4 Ratings: 2.5/5 ⭐️⭐️🌟 Baaghi 4 is a solid entertainer and a worthy addition to the Baaghi franchise. One of the most refreshing aspects this time is Tiger Shroff’s performance. He avoids repeating his usual signature moves like flips, air splits, and flying kicks. Instead, we see a different shade of his action style and screen presence. Even in dialogue delivery, he has stayed away from his earlier “baby-like” tone, which makes his character feel fresh and more impactful. The action scenes are well executed, though some parts were trimmed due to censor cuts. Still, what remains is engaging and enjoyable enough for a one-time theatre watch. If not for the clash with Loka and The Conjuring, Baaghi 4 as a solo release would have drawn even more attention and performed stronger at the box office. On the flip side, the movie feels slightly dragged — around 15 minutes could have been edited out to make it tighter. Also, the emotional depth, especially in the portrayal of brotherhood, could have been stronger. That missing connection makes certain parts feel less impactful. The actress deserves special mention — her role is meaty, and she delivers an excellent performance, making her a promising discovery for the industry. Overall, Baaghi 4 is a good attempt and a satisfying theatrical experience. It’s entertaining, action-packed, and worth a watch, especially for fans of the franchise. Saiyaara is a decent attempt, but not a standout film. It follows the typical Mohit Suri-style formula — where songs carry a heavy emotional weight. The music does help set the mood, and some scenes almost pull you in… but just as you’re about to feel the emotion fully, it abruptly fades. That emotional connection never quite lands the way it should. One of the highlights of the film is the lead actress, Aneet Padda. Her performance in the first half is genuinely impressive — natural, expressive, and emotionally strong. The male lead, Ahaan Panday, delivers an okay performance — decent, but not particularly memorable. Story-wise, it feels like something we’ve already seen. The director doesn’t bring anything fresh to the table, and the narrative treads very familiar ground. A few moments in the movie do manage to evoke emotion, and you almost feel connected — but then the moment passes too soon. The climax, too, is underwhelming. You expect a big emotional payoff, but what you get is just… okay. Final Verdict: Saiyaara is a one-time watch, ideally on OTT. It’s not really a theatre-worthy experience. It feels more suited for the Nibba-Nibbi crowd — the kind who’d bunk college to catch a melodramatic love story. If you’re expecting something fresh or deeply emotional, this one might leave you hanging.

“Lacks soul, no chemistry at all” — that’s the perfect tagline for Param Sundari. The film had so much scope to create depth, especially during the competition and her dance sequences, but it completely missed the emotional connection. The performances could have been more dramatic, more heartfelt — the kind that makes you feel the tension, the passion, the stakes. Instead, it all came across flat. Sidharth Malhotra looked like he was just trying to force himself into the “romantic hero” mold, and his expressions didn’t suit him at all. Janhvi Kapoor was okay, and at least her backstory had some weight, but there was nothing at all for Sidharth — no proper backstory, no character development, nothing that made us connect with him. The love story was equally hollow. There was no chemistry between the leads, nothing that made us root for them. Honestly, it wasn’t even one percent of what Chennai Express delivered in terms of connection and entertainment. If a Malayalam filmmaker had handled this story, that competition sequence alone could have been turned into something goosebump-worthy, with the kind of emotional impact that lingers. The only saving grace? Two songs — one by Adnan Sami and another by Sonu Nigam — those stand out. But apart from that, the film is flat, uninspiring, and fails to move the audience. ⭐️⭐️ (2/5) — A watchable but forgettable film.

⭐ Rating: 4.5/5 – A must-watch entertainer. “Coolie” is easily one of the greatest Rajinikanth movies in recent times. From start to finish, it is engaging, entertaining, and never boring. The film keeps you hooked with its twists and turns, stylish execution, and powerful performances. Rajinikanth’s swag and screen presence are, as always, unmatched — a true treat for fans. Shobin is outstanding and makes a strong impact; after Fahadh in the last film, this Shobin–Rajini combo really works well. Nagarjuna has a decent role, while Aamir Khan’s extended cameo towards the end is just okay — not as powerful as his Rolex act in Vikram, but still a fine addition. What makes “Coolie” stand out is that it’s not just action for the sake of it — it has a story plus action, unlike War 2, which relied only on stunts. The music adds energy, and Monika’s song is a total crowd-pleaser, lifting the theatre atmosphere. This is a true big-screen experience — the kind of film you enjoy more in theatres with the twists, the music, and Rajini’s larger-than-life charisma.

War 2 Review– 2.5/5 🌟 One word review- forgettable. “War 2” is a watchable film — not the disaster some reviews make it out to be, but far from the heights of other Spy Universe entries. The story feels a bit kiddish, like something a child might imagine while playing — “this should happen, then that should happen.” It’s simple, sometimes fun, but not impactful. The storyline isn’t great, with no powerful entry scenes, standout twists, or high-adrenaline moments that stay in your mind. Once you step out of the theatre, you won’t carry the film with you — there’s no emotional baggage. The best sequence is the car-and-train action scene in the first half — easily the movie’s highlight. The film starts slow, with a dull first 15 minutes and an underwhelming Hrithik Roshan entry. It picks up later, then drops into an average, predictable rhythm. On the plus side, the locations, songs, and action keep you engaged enough for a one-time watch. It’s better than “Sikandar”, but still the weakest Spy Universe movie so far. Verdict: Not horrible, not unforgettable — just a decent, passable entertainer.

It’s a musical narrative, meaning that a major chunk of the story is told through songs. If you’re someone who doesn’t enjoy frequent musical sequences or lyrical storytelling, this movie might not be for you. But for those who appreciate theatrical, music-driven cinema—especially fans of Hollywood-style musicals—this one is a must-watch. The film presents four different stories, each exploring relationships, second chances, and emotional complexities. Anurag Basu’s direction shines yet again. The way he weaves music into narrative moments is both unique and artistic—not everyone may get it, but those who do will find it refreshing and heartfelt. Now coming to the cast and performances: • Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh’s story is the highlight. Their chemistry, storyline, and emotional depth were truly compelling. Honestly, we wish there was more screen time dedicated to them. • Pankaj Tripathi steals the show. Every time he’s on screen, he brings effortless laughter. His timing and presence uplift the entire movie. • The storyline featuring Anupam Kher and his daughter-in-law deserved different ending. There’s warmth and wisdom in their scenes that could have been explored deeper. • On the downside, the track with Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur feels underwhelming. Their storyline didn’t quite blend emotionally with the others. Sara’s performance, in particular, lacks the emotional depth that this kind of film demands. One can’t help but feel that the movie might have been tighter and more impactful without this pairing. Despite a few hiccups, Metro… In Dino is an emotionally rich, musically immersive film. The soundtrack carries meaning; if you pay attention to the lyrics, you’ll realize they are not just filler songs, but extensions of the characters’ emotions and journeys. The ending might leave you wishing for slight changes or deeper closures in some arcs, but it still holds together. In conclusion, if you’re open to musicals and nuanced storytelling, this film offers a soulful, entertaining ride. It’s not for everyone, but it definitely deserves appreciation for its ambition and heart.
