As somebody who never read the book, this movie was rather touching. The portrayal of the concept of a Grey area. There’s no right and wrong. There’s never black and white. There is simply Grey. Circumstances lead to consequences which no one can be blamed for. A little bit of warmth and kindness go a long way. Everybody is dealing with their own kind of baggage and things aren’t usually what they seem. A lot of beautiful things you pick up from this film.

This movie will make you cry so much. It is beautiful in every way. My advice is that you have a box of tissues next to you, and pause to make yourself a tea about one hour in. My best friend who loves racing and cars asked me to watch this movie years ago, closer to when it came out. I finally watched it on a random Tuesday afternoon, and I'm so glad that I finally did. This movie will break your heart and mend it repeatedly and simultaneously. 🤍
