Overall, I find this game to be below average.
All characters, including Dani (the protagonist), lack depth and there's a noticeable absence of character development throughout. They added LGBT aspects into this game and introduce it in the most awkward way possible, making it really stand out versus flow with the story. Characters being LGBT do not suddenly make up for poor writing.
The tone of the game isn't consistent, but wants you to think it's consistent. It has this jokey nature to it, for example, the game wants you to feel how messed up Anton (the antagonist) is, while simultaneously giving Dani a CD launcher that plays the Macarena when you use it. The constant comedy made it feel like there were no real stakes and diminished any serious tone the game had going for it.
Far Cry games have always had some amount of stupidity in them, but 6 pushed it way too far, and at the same time wanted to make the conflict the most serious it's ever been. These two things do not mesh well together at ALL.
The story is subpar, uninteresting, and uncompelling.
Honestly, I have never skipped so many cutscenes in any game as much as this one; I even had to take a break at the beginning of the game, due to how bland it was.
The only thing that brought me back was a sale for cosmetics and DLC that I ended up having buyer's remorse over.
Gameplay is repetitive and grindy,
like the fetch quests you have to upgrade camp facilities, in which half of them are useless since there are 10,000 loot crates.
The outposts and checkpoints are very easy to capture and don't have a lot of enemies within them. Get ready, because you will spend the majority of the game clearing these areas and air-spaces, with each location being near identical to the last.
The locations become repetitive, making the game feel monotonous.
Most guns are OP, so the entire game is a breeze and pursuing upgrades only lowers the difficulty further.
In conclusion, the game is seriously lacking in the most important aspects.
If it wasn't for the sheer fact I blew money on this game, I wouldn't have kept playing it.
The only qualities I enjoyed were some interesting weapons, vehicles, treasure hunts, and the graphics were alright.
Side note, do not play the male Dani, the voice acting isn't anywhere near as good as the female's, and just makes the game more painful to play, especially when Dani begins singing to the radio.
