I watched this with my children aged 6 & 10 and it was just right for us all. Scary enough for the six year old to stay close to me for comfort but no nightmares and entertaining enough for the ten year old to stay engaged and finally for me to be thoroughly entertained. The feel of the film was great, it was atmospheric with a quirky storyline that jumped unpredictably from school to house environments but we enjoyed it enough to all want to watch it again. Not many family films we watch are good enough to tick that box.
