I am Lebanese, born right after the civil war in Lebanon. I know all the stories of what happened and I know how my country use to look like. This movie doesn’t represent my country, doesn’t represent its culture, doesn’t show its beauty - ESPECIALLY BACK THEN. Yes we were at war but it was still a beautiful country. Hollywood movies never represent counties in this region the right way. We don’t have camels, we’ve never had camels - we have horses that stroll around. We don’t beat up women in the streets. This is not who we are. We are a country that struggled a lot and is still struggling and that’s what makes it more beautiful but it doesn’t mean that it is a stereotypical country as shown my Hollywood. Please people do your research and represent us properly.
