Summary: A Brilliant Commentary On Robots, Emotions And The Right To Exist
In an age that foresees a world dominated by AI, it is a treat to get such a piece of media that helps us visualise and prepare for such a world. What would happen if robots, in turn their AIs, would learn emotions? Do such creations of mankind have a right to exist?
The 8-episode series does not waste your time and has a beautifully constructed storyline. The overarching plot of "Pluto" and the mystery surrounding the dooming events that keep occuring flows well with the episodic storylines that explore and grow each of the characters.
The suspense and the gradual reveal of mysteries is done very well along with the portrayal of tragic events. Detective Gesicht is my favourite character in the series and is the life of the show in my opinion. There is also great sense of scale to the story since it spans across multiple real world countries with consequences encompassing all of humanity.
The production is top notch with a soundtrack that fits perfectly to each scene and crisp animation that never misses a frame.
If we believe that God created us, he surely must have known the consequences of emotions. In the same way, we could be the Gods of robots. So, if we have the right to exist, what is wrong with the existence of robots flowing with emotions?
Overall, I think the most important theme this series explores is emotions. Be them in us, or in robots.
