New Order is dark, suspenseful, and very well made. Rich on every level: surface, story, and subtext. The shots and film making are beautiful. The performances are candid and as real as it can get. It's a quick 95 minute movie, perfectly paced. Many of the scenes are taut, and intense that drive home the story with artistry. I appreciate the hands-off approach of not giving the audiences every nuanced detail of setup (I dislike when movies over explain.) Ive already returned and seen the film twice. Lastly I appreciate the message of the film doesn't have a side, but really tries to examine root causes of behavior that leads to tragedy.
