I have watched many World War 2 movies, and this one ranks among the best. Great character development all leading up to a crescendo of an ending. It centers on a most tragic mistake by the Allies toward the end of the war but, at the same time, brilliantly demonstrates the strength and resilience of the human spirit. It was, on the whole, a most uplifting movie.
