Nick does, in fact, have scoliosis. This subtle change changed my life forever. The way that the scoliosis seamlessly weaves in-between the story is a breathtaking feat of literature. Even if this is just a retelling of a story, this book does it so well, describing the scoliosis so vividly, that I believe that this book should get multiple awards just for the scoliosis.
